How the entry slots work
According to the official FAQ, a group enters every 10 minutes. Your ticket shows a time slot, and you should be at the access at least 30 minutes before it. This applies to guided visits and groups too.
A study for the Diputación, reported by the newspaper El Español in April 2026, gives a maximum of 1,500 visitors per day. The same report says nearly all the tickets offered in 2016 to 2025 were sold, so popular dates fill up.
Weather closures
The official site says strong wind, especially on the hanging bridge near Alora, and heavy rain can close the walk. Light rain is allowed with a raincoat, but umbrellas are forbidden. If the walk closes for weather, you can change your date from your personal account, subject to availability. Without a warning 24 hours before, the visit goes ahead.
Notices are sent by email, SMS, Telegram and social media. The official site also has a weather page with forecasts.
How long it takes
The official site gives 3 to 4 hours for the whole route, including the access paths, and about 150 minutes for the controlled section (walkway, Hoyo valley, walkway). Add the time to reach the north access and to get back from El Chorro.
